Old White-y

The last truck Jim had was red but with red apples and a red truck it all started looking the same.  So, I went back a few more years and thought I'd do his white truck - White-y (not a very original name for sure)!    White-y probably had 200,000 miles on it when it finally bit the dust but to be honest, I think he kept setting the mileage back in case he ever decided to trade it!  White-y LOOKED like it had about 200,000 miles on it too!  Maybe even more.  It saw a lot in it's lifetime.  (Oh, and yes, we always named our vehicles - doesn't everyone)!

This is a very old Stamping Up stamp.   I used watercolors and colored the apples, basket, grass, etc.(can you even see the apples!!!!!!) and  kept the truck itself an off gray/white.  The sentiment is from Simon Says stamp.

Thanks for stopping by..........and have a great weekend.
Lynn

I just LOVE this truck image and the plaid paper behind it! My hubs had a 2000 Ford truck with 236,000 miles on it and when they towed it away, it was like saying good bye to an old friend. He didn't name his trucks, but we have fond memories of them all. Great father's day card!

Oh Lynn... I loved reading about White-y! And your card is a great way to remember it! Lovely card! Yes, I always name my cars, too - I currently drive Hot Sauce. ;)

Oh Lynn, wow! This is a great visual focal point drawing right in to the truck! I love the background plaid. We've always named our vehicles! My daughter Just this week got a new car and it's white - since she (it's a girl) is still nameless, I call her Blanca - LOL! (Spanish for white, just feminine!) Okay, I'll be quiet - GREAT card, my friend!

That image is very cool and especially with the apples in the back! Yes, I name objects all the time and people look at me as if I've lost my mind! LOL!! That plaid paper is awesome and it's great to have those memories and even the milage to look back on. :) Have a good one!

This is so cute, Lynn. White-y looks rugged and rustic. The tartan designer paper looks so perfect under the image.

I can see the apples, Lynn. Love the white truck and I agree that the apples stand out better in a white truck. My DH has an old white truck but I don't think he's ever named it. He needs to get on that! The plaid is fantastic to frame the design and gives it even more of a masculine feel! Hope all is well with you, my friend.

Lynn, this is a perfect Father's Day card. The plaid is perfect. I love that the truck is left white. So many times I thought of putting a car or truck on a card, but don't like the way I color them. I never thought of making them white. I don't know why. Every car we've ever purchased is white.

Fantastic card, Lynn! I love the white truck and plaid paper background. Yes, I've named vehicles in my lifetime but only those whose 'personalities' I really loved. Some had very bland personalities, not deserving of a name. I know, I know, some people will think that's crazy but that's because most people don't spend any time discovering their car's personality. I assure you, each car has one just as every pet has one. It sometimes takes a few months to recognize and understand it, but if you look and listen closely, you'll find that I'm right about this. :-D

What a great stamp Lynn, love the plaid papers and fabulous card. I need to go shopping for some male stamps, I have dies but sometimes a stamp is what is needed to speed things up a bit..

I love that you guys named your vehicles. I only ever called my vehicles Betsy, and that isn't very original now is it?! lol I love White-y though! This is a great father's day card Lynn and I am loving that you kept the truck white. The apples and grass show up so good. The plaid is perfect to showcase the truck on too. Hugs, Brenda
