I actually made a card very similar to this not long ago - and thought I'd throw another one at you today! Even though it started out as being a masculine card, I really think it could be used as a "male-ish" or a "female-ish" card!!
I used a piece of fabric that I had left over from making a tote bag last summer. The card stock is Very Vanilla and Wild Wasabi from SU. The sentiment is from Well Scripted and texturz plate also from SU. The button - well, who knows where that came from - it just sort of "appeared" in my stash! It's also a top fold card - which I don't normally do and don't know why.
This is for the challenge over at The Paper Players (fun with fabric).
(Several have asked about my shoulder - I appreciate that so much. It seems that I have a pinched nerve in my neck that's causing all the problems. Makes it very hard to do anything crafty (or anything else) right now - but I'm "hanging in there". Hopefully the doctors can do something about this soon.)
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend...........
Lynn

How adorable, Lynn!! Depending on the fabric, this sweet design would work for almost anyone on any occasion!! A CAS delight!
How creative, Lynn! This just stands right out! Love the simplicity of it but the pop of color in the midst of your fab embossed background - this is a gorgeous card! A delight indeed! x0x0
Love, love, love this simple and effective card... Very much for a male, I think. The checks look great and the button and twine make it look perfect for a man.
Hope the pinched nerve gets sorted sooner rather than later.
Hugs,
Monica
Lynn, I keep forgetting about that texturz plate! Love this card. The Wild Wasabi keeps it crisp and really makes the green in the fabric pop! Love that you frayed the edges of the fabric, too. I almost always do top fold cards whether its for vertical or horizontal cards. they just seem to stand better for me!
get better soon my friend,
big hugs
jaydee
Beautiful, Lynn! I love the clean and class look of this card!
Fabulous idea Lynn! Love the CAS look. Sorry to read about your shoulder! Take care of yourself. Thinking of you!
Smiles,
Lesley
Thanks for joining us at the Paper Players this week!
I love this card, Lynn. What a great idea! So simple and easy to do but very effective. I can see how the look could change depending on the type of fabric scrap used. Taffeta or silk could make a very elegant card or gingham check could be used as a child/baby card. I have a couple of buttons that are old-fashioned "diaper pins" and I might have to CASE this idea for a new baby card for my niece. Thanks for the inspiration. :-)
I'll keep you and your shoulder in my prayers.
Oh, CAS and fabric, ok you have really given me ideas now. Love this, the red plaid just pops with the embossed white background. I so hope that you shoulder/neck feel better soon and the doctors get this all figured out for you. Feel better and get some rest this weekend.
This is wonderful! I love the fun clean and simple layout. Great card Lynn!
Great card, I like the clean and simple style. I've never tried fabric before, pretty neat!
I really, really like this super CAS card. xxx
Glad to know the doctor at least knows what the problem is. Hopefully, it will resolve itself.
Love the card, very clever!
Love the clean-and-simple look of this card. The repetition of the diagonal squares on the embossing and the fabric swatch is just perfect! Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players this week!
I love this one, Lynn! The plaid fabric is so pretty (those colors are awesome) and that button is fabulous. I wish one that cool would appear in my button stash, lol! Thinking about you and hope your shoulder feels better soon! Hugs! :)
Take some rest Lynn! Dont push yourself... LOVE your card btw! DONT make anything else! LOL
what a great idea - love it best wishes Lesley x
In spite of your pinched nerve, you're still making some amazing cards! Yay you! This is such a C&S beauty, and reminds me to use fabric more often! I love that button and how perfectly it matches the swatches of fabric! Take care now and I hope you feel better soon. Those pinched nerves are no fun :(
So simple, but so sweet!
I love that background, at first I thought maybe you did it with one of those score boards. This is a very versatile card
Great card- you'll have to get hubby to help with the stamping too...! Love the idea with the fabric and the buttons!
Hi Lynn! I'm back!! Love the card. Could definitely be either masculine or feminine. I'll assume you stamped before you embossed? Love the pieces of fabrics.
Sorry to hear about your pinched nerve. Hope you are starting to feel better!
